Worship Art
Worship Art is kind of a new thing for us. A few years ago, I was at a Pastor's Conference in California. A perfect stranger came up to me and said, "God is going to visit your church with the arts soon."
I ask the man. "What does that mean?" He said he had no idea. That made two of us. But several weeks went by and one of our ladies asked if she could bring her flags and do them during worship? A few more weeks went by and another lady asked if she could paint something during worship, I said, "Sure."
And that began what you'll see on the following pages. We encourage everyone to paint. Even the kids. You don't have to produce a Leonardo da Vinci all you have to do is paint something from your heart to God.
After all, this is a painting for an audience of One. People are learning to overcome their intimidation with what they think others might be thinking about their artwork. We're learning, to focus our attention on what God thinks. (And He's in a good mood.) This is love gift to Him, done for an audience of ONE.
Have you ever had a child or a grandchild present you with a masterpiece that they drew or painted? Did you ridicule it and them or did you receive it with joy and praise?
God is delighted by anything that comes from our heart that is directed as an act of love and gratitude toward Him.
